2023 Metropolitan’s Lifetime Service Award

Recognizing the work of Ukrainian Catholic Religious Sister for

Dedication and Excellence in Education

The 2023 Metropolitan’s Lifetime Service Award will be conferred on Friday, November 24th after the Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Philadelphia. 

In the presence of the Papal Nuncio to the United States, Cardinal Archbishop Christophe Pierre, Bishop Paul Chomnycky, Eparch of the Stamford Eparchy, Bishop Hlib Lonchyna, Apostolic Administrator of the Paris Eparchy, and representatives of the clergy, religious, and faithful of the Archeparchy of Philadelphia, Metropolitan Borys Gudziak, Ukrainian Catholic Archbishop of Philadelphia will recognize three female religious orders:

  • The Jesus, Lover of Humanity Province of the Sisters of the Order of Saint Basil the Great
  • The Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate of the Immaculate Conception Province in the USA and the
  • Missionary Sisters of the Mother of God

for their dedicated and excellent, life-giving and fruitful ministry in education.

Metropolitan Borys established the Metropolitan’s Lifetime Service Award in 2022.

The first recipient was Monsignor Ronald Popivchak, long-time pastor of Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in Bridgeport, PA.

The Award highlights outstanding, dedicated lifelong service of the clergy, religious, and laity of the Archeparchy of Philadelphia.
