His Beatitude Sviatoslav and the bishops of the Permanent Synod visit the US

His Beatitude Sviatoslav Shevchuk, Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, accompanied by five bishops comprising the Permanent Synod, will be in Washington, D.C. from March 3 to March 6, 2024. This momentous visit marks the first official Ukrainian Catholic delegation to the US since the onset of the conflict in February 2022.

Join us on Sunday, March 3 at 10:30 AM as His Beatitude Sviatoslav Shevchuk celebrates the Divine Liturgy at the Ukrainian Catholic National Shrine of the Holy Family in Washington, D.C. The Archbishop of Washington, Cardinal Wilton Gregory, alongside the head of the US Catholic Conference of Bishops Archbishop Timothy Broglio and Cardinal Donald Wuerl, Archbishop Emeritus of Washington, will concelebrate.

Additionally, the bishops will travel to Philadelphia to participate in the ordination mass of three auxiliary bishops of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia on March 7. The same day His Beatitude Sviatoslav will also lead a solemn Prayer for Peace in Ukraine at the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Their journey will culminate in New York City, where they will join the Ukrainian community in prayer at St. George Ukrainian Catholic Church and will attend the Aid to the Church in Need gratitude mass at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral.
