Bishop Andriy to Preside at Cathedral Liturgies, Sunday, November 4 to Commemorate the Sixtieth Anniversary of the Establishment of the Ukrainian Catholic Metropolitan Archeparchy of Philadelphia; Everyone is Invited to Attend
Sixty years ago, on Saturday, November 1, 1958, the clergy, religious and thousands of faithful gathered at Convention Hall in Philadelphia for a Pontifical Divine Liturgy by His Excellency, the Most Reverend Constantine Bohachevsky, celebrating his installation as the first Metropolitan Archbishop and the canonical elevation of the Exarchy of Philadelphia to a Metropolitan-Archeparchy by His Holiness Pope Pius XII.
By two Papal Bulls dated July 10, 1958, Pope Pius XII raised the Philadelphia Exarchy to a Metropolitan Archieparchial See and named the Most Reverend Constantine Bohachevsky, as the first Metropolitan-Archbishop.
To commemorate the sixtieth anniversary of this joyous event in the history of the Ukrainian Catholic Metropolitan Archeparchy of Philadelphia, Bishop Andriy Rabiy, Apostolic Administrator will preside at the 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Divine Liturgies on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 830 North Franklin Street, Philadelphia, Pa.
Throughout the coming year of 2019, local deanery celebrations will also be held to commemorate this sixtieth anniversary of the establishment of the Ukrainian Catholic Metropolitan-Archeparchy of Philadelphia.
